This program is for serious students who want to improve their conversational fluency in a sophisticated course which includes a variety of cultural experiences. Homework will be assigned.

Conversation Plus emphasizes the study of American culture and lifestyle, and the improvement of your fluency in English. Classes include daily practice in speaking, listening, and reading with limited time spent on grammar. You expand your conversation and reading skills as you experience American life and culture through direct contact and discussions with English language instructors. All students interact with other English speakers called Conversation Leaders (photo on right). Upper-level students also meet and interact with invited guest speakers. Guest speakers in the past have included a journalist, a border patrol officer, a lawyer, and a professional baseball player. Visits to a courtroom, a museum, and a historical park are examples of typical class trips.
