Who should take this course?

For students with low-advanced and advanced English language skills who would like to earn university credit. Students take a combination of ESL courses and subject courses.

Open to Core 108 and higher level students, but students must score well on placement tests also.


Program features:

9 - 17 hours/week of English Language instruction;

1 -2 University or University Extension courses (credits may be transferrable to degree programs);

Academic advising throughout the quarter;

Core classes for fluency and comprehension;
-
Wide variety of courses for academic preparation and cultural understanding.
 
Students with strong academic records and very advanced English skills may prefer to enroll in the University and Professional Studies Program.

*In the summer, this program can only be taken with a combination of  English classes and UCSD Extension classes.

Days: All classes are between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Schedule varies depending on classes chosen.

Hours of instruction: 9-17 hours per week of ESL; 1-2 university classes depending on language level.
